BK8.io is the crypto casino from BK8, and on 21 April 2025 the Badminton World Federation announced BK8 as its official betting sponsor partner for the BWF Major Championships through to 2026. The agreement covers two of badminton's biggest events of the 2025 season, the TotalEnergies BWF Sudirman Cup Finals and the TotalEnergies BWF World Championships, bringing BK8 branding into the sport's broadcast coverage and event hospitality.

Background

The partnership was announced directly by the BWF, which described BK8 as "the official betting sponsor partner for BWF Major Championships through to 2026" and noted that the agreement was facilitated by the federation's commercial and broadcast partner, Infront. The same announcement named two further 2026 fixtures, the BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals and the BWF World Championships 2026, as part of the same multi-year deal. Two days later, on 23 April 2025, BK8 issued its own release confirming the two 2025 events and their dates.

What the partnership covers

The first event under the deal was the TotalEnergies BWF Sudirman Cup Finals, badminton's mixed-team world championship, held in Xiamen from 27 April to 4 May 2025. According to Wikipedia, sixteen national teams competed in four groups before a knockout bracket of quarter-finals, a semi-final and a final; each tie is decided across five matches spanning men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. China won the title, beating South Korea in the final without dropping a single tie across the event. The second event was the TotalEnergies BWF World Championships, badminton's individual world championship, staged at the Adidas Arena in Paris from 25 to 31 August 2025, where, per Wikipedia, 383 competitors from 53 nations competed across the same five disciplines over seven days. At both events, the sponsorship put BK8 branding into the broadcast coverage and included exclusive engagement initiatives for BK8's own members, such as VIP tickets and hospitality.

Separately, BK8 said in a release distributed on 23 April 2025 that it is also the Official Partner of the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals, an end-of-season event for the year's top-ranked players. That event does not appear in the BWF's own announcement of the through-2026 deal, so this article treats it as a claim BK8 made in its own release rather than one the BWF has independently confirmed.

What it means

Badminton gives BK8 a route to an audience that follows the sport closely across the year, through two of its largest events rather than a single fixture, and the deal running through 2026 carried that visibility into the following year's World Championships and the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals. At the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals in Horsens, BK8 News, the BK8 sports news brand, added a second role as presenting partner of the 2026 Finals. The full picture, including how each event fits together and what remains a single-source claim, is set out on the BWF sponsorship page. Badminton itself is not one of the sports listed on the BK8.io sportsbook, which instead covers football, basketball, horse racing, tennis, cricket and rugby, so the BWF partnership works as brand visibility across the badminton calendar rather than as a route into a betting market.
