BK8.io is the crypto casino from BK8, and on 22 April 2026 the Badminton World Federation announced BK8 News, the BK8 sports news brand, as Presenting Partner of the BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals 2026. The deal put the BK8 News name on badminton's flagship men's and women's team championship, played at Forum Horsens in Denmark from 24 April to 3 May 2026, and it ran alongside the betting partnership that BK8 already held with the federation for the same event.

Background

The announcement was published by the BWF on the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals website two days before the first tie, and the same release was carried by the Manila Times and Vietnam News on 29 April 2026. The BWF said the agreement was facilitated by Infront, its commercial and broadcast partner, alongside Outlast Sports and Entertainment. It was the second BWF agreement involving the BK8 brand in twelve months. In April 2025 the federation had named BK8 its official betting partner for the BWF Major Championships through 2026, and the events it listed under that deal included the 2026 Thomas and Uber Cup Finals. The new agreement was signed with BK8 News rather than with BK8 itself, and it carried a media role rather than a betting one.

What the partnership covered

As Presenting Partner, BK8 News supported what the BWF described as enhanced international visibility and deeper fan engagement, delivered through integrated media coverage and content-led initiatives around the event. The release describes BK8 News as a sports media platform owned by BK8 that publishes match reporting and analysis across football, badminton, basketball and motorsport on its digital channels, so the partnership gave it a formal role at a tournament it would have covered in any case. The BWF's commercial and communications director said the collaboration "highlights the rising commercial strength of our premier championships and supports broader international exposure through BK8 News' media reach". The managing director of BK8 News called it "a major milestone for BK8 News, providing a global stage to elevate our brand and bring fans closer to the excitement of world-class badminton through engaging content, storytelling and immersive experiences".

The tournament the name was attached to is badminton's biggest team event. According to Wikipedia, sixteen national teams contested the Thomas Cup, the men's team championship, and sixteen the Uber Cup, the women's equivalent, with both competitions running side by side in Horsens over ten days. China beat France in the Thomas Cup final on 3 May to take a twelfth title, and South Korea beat the defending champions China in the Uber Cup final the same day for a third title. Between them, the two finals brought the ten days of play to a close with the BK8 News name attached to both trophies' presentations.

What it means

The deal put two BK8 names on one event. BK8 was already the federation's official betting partner for the Finals under the 2025 agreement, and BK8 News now sat above it as the event's presenting partner, which is a media position rather than a betting one. That is the same structure the brand uses in MotoGP, where BK8 News rather than BK8 is the name on the Gresini Racing bikes, as set out in the story of the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP partnership. Putting the news brand forward at a broadcast-heavy event gives the BK8 name a presence in badminton coverage that does not depend on a betting message, and it fits the way bk8.news already reports on the sport.

The presenting partnership was tied to the 2026 Finals alone, and that event has now been played, so this site lists it as a completed partnership rather than a current one; the betting partnership for the BWF Major Championships continues to the end of 2026. Both are set out, with dates, on the BK8 sponsorships page. Badminton itself is not one of the sports listed on the BK8.io sportsbook, which covers football, basketball, horse racing, tennis, cricket and rugby, as the BK8 sportsbook guide sets out, so the badminton partnerships work as brand visibility across the calendar rather than as a route into a betting market.
